Victoria Food Service Deepens Commitment to Canterbury Rugby as New Pathways Partner

We are delighted to announce that Victoria Food Services has increased its commitment to the game by becoming an official Pathways Partner for the 2026/27 seasons.

After joining Canterbury Rugby as a supply partner in 2025, Victoria Food Services has quickly become a valued member of the rugby whānau, providing high-quality catering and hospitality support across a range of Canterbury Rugby events and functions.

The move to become a Pathways Partner reflects a shared commitment to developing future generations of players and ensuring rugby continues to thrive throughout Canterbury.

Based in Christchurch and servicing the wider Canterbury region, Victoria Food Services has been helping create memorable experiences through food for more than 35 years. From corporate events and conferences to weddings, sporting events and community gatherings, the business has built a reputation for exceptional service, locally sourced ingredients and delivering experiences people remember.

Under the leadership of owner Jon Wild, Victoria Food Service has entered an exciting new chapter. Since acquiring the business, Jon has continued to build on its strong foundations while bringing his own unique perspective and experience to the organisation.

Before entering the catering industry, Jon enjoyed a successful career in television production, including time as a Line Producer on The Bachelor USA. He has also worked extensively within the rugby environment, including alongside the All Blacks, giving him a unique appreciation for the power that sport has to bring people together.

Most recently, Victoria Food Services played a key role in delivering catering services for the Special Olympics, showcasing the scale, professionalism and community spirit that has become synonymous with the business.

Jon said becoming a Pathways Partner was a natural next step in the relationship with Canterbury Rugby.

"Our first year working alongside Canterbury Rugby gave us a real appreciation for the people, values and community that sit behind the organisation. We're proud to strengthen that relationship and support the pathways that help develop future generations of Canterbury Rugby players."

"Rugby has an incredible ability to connect people and create opportunities, and we're excited to play a small role in supporting that journey."

Canterbury Rugby Chief Executive Tony Smail welcomed Victoria Food Services' increased commitment.

"Jon and the Victoria Food Services team have been fantastic partners since joining the Canterbury Rugby family. They understand the importance of community, connection and creating memorable experiences, which aligns strongly with what we're trying to achieve as an organisation."

"Pathways are the lifeblood of Canterbury Rugby. The support of partners like Victoria Food Service helps us continue investing in the players, coaches and programmes that will shape the future of our game."

Canterbury Rugby would like to thank Jon and the entire Victoria Food Services team for their support and commitment to the future of rugby in Canterbury. We look forward to continuing our journey together in 2026 and beyond.
