No.4 Bar & Restaurant Continues Partnership with Canterbury Rugby Under New Ownership

We are delighted to confirm that No.4 Bar & Restaurant will continue as a valued partner of the organisation under its new ownership, ensuring one of the rugby community's favourite gathering places remains firmly connected to the red and black whānau.

Recently acquired by Aikmans Group, led by hospitality operators Jeremy Stevens and Frank Van Shaijik, No.4 enters an exciting new chapter while maintaining the strong community spirit and welcoming atmosphere that has made it a Christchurch institution for generations.

For many years, No.4 has served as a home away from home for Canterbury Rugby supporters, players, partners and friends of the game. Whether celebrating a big win, reconnecting after a match, or simply catching up with fellow rugby fans, the venue has become a place where relationships are built and memories are made.

The continuation of the partnership reflects a shared commitment to community and the important role rugby plays in bringing people together across Canterbury.

Aikmans Group Director Jeremy Stevens, said maintaining No.4's connection to Canterbury Rugby was an important part of the venue's future.

"No.4 has always been more than just a bar and restaurant. It's a place where people come together, and rugby has been a big part of that story for many years. We're excited to continue supporting Canterbury Rugby and providing a space where supporters, players and partners can connect throughout the season."

The partnership comes at an exciting time for both organisations, with Canterbury Rugby preparing for its first full season at One NZ Stadium and No.4 introducing a refreshed brand under its new ownership.

Canterbury Rugby Chief Executive Tony Smail welcomed the continuation of the relationship.

"No.4 has become a special place for many people involved in Canterbury Rugby. It's somewhere our community naturally gravitates to, whether that's before a game, after a game, or simply to catch up with friends."

"We're thrilled to continue this partnership with Aikmans Group. They understand the importance of creating spaces where communities can gather, and that's something that aligns strongly with what Canterbury Rugby is all about."

As part of the venue's next chapter, patrons can also enjoy Southern Alps Ultra on tap, adding another local connection for supporters gathering to discuss the latest rugby action and celebrate the moments that make the game special.

Canterbury Rugby thanks Jeremy & Frank for their support and looks forward to creating many more memorable moments together at No.4.
