Miles Toyota has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to community rugby, re-signing with Canterbury Rugby for a further three years in a partnership that continues to support the game from grassroots through to the representative level.
The renewed agreement sees Miles Toyota remain as Canterbury Rugby’s Official Community Partner, alongside its role as naming rights partner of the Miles Toyota Premiership, Cup and Championship school competitions. The organisation will also continue as the front-of-jersey partner for Canterbury’s Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) team, reinforcing its strong support of the women’s game in the region.
At its core, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening rugby across Canterbury’s club network and investing in the people who bring the game to life.
Canterbury Rugby CEO Tony Smail said the extension highlights a relationship built on genuine impact within the community. “Miles Toyota have been an incredible partner of Canterbury Rugby for many years. Their commitment goes far beyond branding, they genuinely care about our clubs, our players and the communities that make rugby in Canterbury so special. “Their support of initiatives like Club Legends, along with their backing of women and girls’ rugby, has made a meaningful difference across our region. We’re excited to continue building on that momentum together.”
A key focus of the partnership has been recognising the volunteers who underpin the club game. Through the Club Legends campaign, Miles Toyota has helped shine a light on the unsung heroes who dedicate countless hours to keeping community rugby thriving.
The partnership has also played an important role in supporting the continued growth and visibility of women’s rugby in Canterbury, highlighted by its ongoing front-of-jersey sponsorship of the FPC team.
Miles Toyota CEO Mark Mills said the partnership reflects the company’s deep connection to the Canterbury community. “Canterbury Rugby plays a vital role in bringing communities together across the region. At Miles Toyota, we’re proud to support the people who make the game possible- from grassroots volunteers through to our representative teams. “Continuing this partnership allows us to keep investing in our community, celebrate the strength of our club network through initiatives like Club Legends, and support the continued growth of women and girls in rugby.”
With the partnership secured for another three years, Miles Toyota will continue to play a key role in supporting the future of rugby across Canterbury- from local clubrooms and fields to the highest levels of the game.
