#WaiataWithUs and be in to WIN a one of a kind Guitar!

Waiata with us Canterbury! We're calling on red and black supporters of all ages to raise their voices and show their provincial pride through waiata. Whether it’s a family singalong, a full school choir, solo performance, or your club or workplace rallying together – we want to hear the songs that celebrate our province, our people and cheer on our teams.

By posting to socials or sending in your waiata, you’ll go in the draw to win a truly extraordinary prize: a Takamine Dragon Series guitar, hand-carved by Canterbury NPC player Andrew Knewstubb through his craft, Stubby’s Workshop. "Music connects people, no matter where you're from or your upbringing it's something that we can share together, to be united. That's why a guitar felt like the right thing to share with our community, and that connection is what I've tried to reflect in the design" said Knewstubb.

This guitar is more than just a prize– it’s a piece of Canterbury history. Beautifully designed to incorporate Pasifika and Māori heritage, it features intricate patterns alongside the Canterbury crest, and carved into both sides are the championship titles of both our NPC and FPC teams. To make it even more special, the back has been signed by the entire 2025 Canterbury squads.

And that’s not all. The winner will also receive tickets to Canterbury’s final round robin home game vs Taranaki – for their school, club, or workplace*. Even better, the winning waiata will be played live on the big screen at Apollo Projects Stadium during the match, giving the whole community the chance to celebrate your pride and creativity.

How to enter:

- Record your waiata – big or small, traditional or original, it’s all about showing your Canterbury pride.

- Post your entry on social media using #WaiataWithUs and tag Canterbury Rugby, or send it directly to us at info@canterburyrugby.co.nz

- Every waiata is an entry into the draw to win the guitar, game day tickets, and the chance to see your performance on the big screen.

- Entries close on Thursday 2nd October at 5pm, ahead of Sunday's match vs Taranaki.

Let’s hear Canterbury get behind our teams– from our schools, our marae, our clubs, and our homes. Together we can create a chorus that celebrates who we are and the red and black teams we stand with.

It's our final season at Apollo Projects Stadium and now it's YOUR turn to share the stage. What are you waiting for...get those vocal chords warmed up and lets see you sing!
