We’re looking for enthusiastic and driven interns to join our Partnerships +Engagement team for an unforgettable season as we step into our new home at One NZ Stadium. This is a rare chance to gain hands-on experience delivering high-impact events, work alongside industry professionals, and be part of creating moments that matter for our fans and community. If you’re passionate about sport, events, and bringing people together, we’d love to hear from you.
Purpose of Position:
- To provide students with hands-on experience in the sport and recreation sector, specifically focusing on event operations.
- Support the delivery of high-quality community and partnership events throughout the season.
- Assist with behind-the-scenes operations at Canterbury NPC and FPC home games, including halftime activations, fan engagement, merchandise sales, and family zone activities.
- Positively represent Canterbury Rugby and contribute to creating memorable experiences for fans, partners, and the community.
Expectations of Candidates:
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to get stuck in.
- A strong interest in sport, events, and the recreation sector.
- Confident engaging with the public, including children and families.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full driver's licence is required.
Opportunities:
As an intern with Canterbury Rugby, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to be part of One NZ Stadium’s foundation year, working at the heart of a brand-new era for sport in our region. This role offers hands-on experience inside this world-class venue from day one- supporting events, operations, and fan engagement as we bring the stadium to life. It’s a rare chance to contribute to something truly special while gaining invaluable event experience.
Hours:
The internship will total approximately 120 hours across the season, with flexibility required due to the varying demands of game days and event schedules. Specific days and times will be agreed with the Events Manager.
This is an unpaid internship, designed to provide valuable real-world experience in the industry.
Term:
The term will run from April to October 2025.
