Kieran Read is one of the best loose forwards in the country, having broken into the All Blacks team in 2008 after earlier that year captaining Canterbury to NPC success. His defence and work rate is second to none. The Rosehill College (Counties Manukau) product is also a more than handy cricketer, having previously wielded the willow to good effect for national age-group representative sides.
