The Canterbury team to play Wellington in a pre-season match at the Linwood Rugby Club, Christchurch, on Friday, kick-off 2pm, is:

Flanker and captain George Whitelock (Achilles), second-five Ryan Crotty (shoulder), wing Patrick Osborne (head knock) and hooker Steve Fualau (hamstring) will start the match after being unavailable for last week’s pre-season match against Tasman in Blenheim.

Ash Parker moves to No8, replacing Nasi Manu, who injured a posterior cruciate ligament in his knee in the Tasman match. Manu could be unavailable for up to six weeks.

Hooker Corey Flynn, who has been on All Blacks duty, will start the match on the bench.

First-five Stephen Brett and second-five Adam Whitelock are unavailable after being concussed in the match against Tasman.

The game was to be held at Lincoln University but has been switched to Linwood due to ground conditions.

The match is not a first-class fixture. It will be played in two 40-minute halves but rolling substitutions will be allowed.
